The Parish Religious Education Program (P.R.E.P.) of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs, seeks to provide the children of our parish who attend non-parochial schools, with the knowledge, experiences, and skills necessary to become faithful and fruitful disciples of Jesus. Recognizing that parents are the primary catechists of their children through example and instruction, we aim to provide assistance and support for them in their efforts to raise their children in the Catholic Faith.
Classes are held on Monday evenings from 6:45 - 8:00 p.m. for children in grades one through eight. Classes begin in late August and continue through mid-May. The diocesan approved Sophia Institute for Teachers Spirit of Truth curriculum is used. In addition preparations for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist take place during second grade. Theology of the Body is presented during seventh grade. Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation takes place in eighth grade.
Students also participate in Reconciliation, seasonal masses, and activities such as Stations of the Cross, Rosary, May Crowning, service projects, etc.
