Below is an update of some of the outreach efforts for the 4th quarter of 2017.

On October 7, we went on a tour of the Rose Garden Mission.  What an amazing tour it was.  Mother Seraphina and her group of sisters do some unbelievable work there! The mission is staffed 100% by volunteers and sisters. They help moms make good choices in their pregnancies and provide material needs for them and their babies. They have a no-questions-asked Food Pantry, where families may receive food every day the Mission is open, a free primary care clinic called the Rose Garden Center for Hope & Healing and a free Dental Clinic. The Mission relies completely on donations to assist neighbors in need and because there is no paid staff, 100% of donations go directly toward the ministry. All the services offered are given free of cost to the one in need, basing all their ministry on the Scriptures. www.exclusivesoftware.com/RoseGardenMission/RoseGarden/default.html

The week before Halloween a group from St. Joe’s sponsored decorated cars for the Diocese of Covington Children’s Home Trunk or Treat.  DCCH provides services that include residential treatment, foster care, adoption, therapy and counseling services to meet all mental health needs for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in Northern Kentucky. They focus on helping to rebuild the lives of individuals with traumatic, emotional and behavioral difficulties. Their unique, onsite personalized approach allows each person to thrive socially, mentally, and physically, and make positive, permanent life changes. https://www.dcchcenter.org/

The annual Haiti drive was a huge success raising just under $12,000. This was in addition to the parish sponsoring two hurricane drives at the same time which shows the incredible generosity of the members of St. Joe’s.

The Thanksgiving drive was also a huge success.  We had 300 bags filled with non-perishable groceries, personal care items and cleaning products. All the bags were given out to families in need through various charities where they were greatly appreciated.

The annual Giving Tree is always an amazing opportunity to bring joy to those in need. Volunteers not only purchased and gift-wrapped needed items they also participated in transporting and distributing the gifts.

St. Joe’s along with St. Agnes is a part of Family Promise. Family Promise is a sheltering program specially designed for families to help them get through a difficult time in their life and back on their feet. Volunteers from St. Joes could be cooking, cleaning, driving, or spending time with the children. https://www.nkyfamilypromise.org/

We invite and encourage you to become involved in the outreach opportunities.
